Spring to Summer Transitions Qigong (Manor Mill-Monkton)

  • Manor Mill 2029 Monkton Road Monkton, MD, 21111 United States (map)

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese mind-body-spirit practice that blends movement, breath, and intention to promote optimum health and wellness. It’s also been referred to as "energy yoga." There are thousands of styles of qigong – tai chi is the most well-known. We’ll practice various styles.

During spring, we embrace the wood element, focusing on liver and gallbladder health, renewal, growth, flexibility, balance, and resilience. These practices also support detoxification, eye health, creativity, and fresh perspectives.

During summer, we embrace the fire element, focusing on heart and small intestine health, cultivating joy and open-heartedness, and overcoming anxiety, overthinking, and sleep disturbances. These practices also improve cardiovascular health and circulation, reduce inflammation, and calm the mind and spirit.

To support your wellness journey, we’ll end our flow with self-guided acupressure.

We do new routines each month, and classes are suitable for beginners and experts alike. Practice self-care by slowing down, focusing your attention inward, and leave feeling refreshed and with a greater sense of peace.
